Double Lives

Double Lives is a compelling visual and musical collaboration with Dr. Diljeet Kaur Bhachu that explores the complex layers of diaspora identity and family histories through album artwork and design. Working with archival photographs and oral histories, the project weaves together stories of migration and belonging through mixed media illustrations that complement Dr. Bhachu's musical narrative. By incorporating sustainable materials like recycled paper and plant-based inks, the design approach mirrors the album's themes of heritage and continuity. The artwork creates an intimate visual dialogue between past and present, celebrating the richness of diasporic experiences while acknowledging the challenges of navigating multiple cultural identities.
