The Black History Month Scotland 2023 poster design represents a significant cultural milestone in Scotland's celebration of Black heritage and achievement. As the commissioned visual designer, I created a bold visual identity that honours both historical legacy and contemporary Black Scottish experiences. The design weaves together elements of African and Caribbean cultural motifs with Scottish visual traditions, creating a powerful statement about belonging and representation in modern Scotland. Through a carefully considered color palette and dynamic composition, the poster communicates both celebration and reflection, serving as a beacon for the month's diverse array of events and discussions across the country. The resulting visual identity helped unify the nationwide program while making a strong statement about the vital presence and contributions of Black communities in Scotland's past, present, and future.
